Sixth time. This guy is always parked here.
I wonder why they bothered making this bike lane. It's always full of parked cars, and much of it is in really lumpy door-zones.
They should fix it and enforce it, or get rid of it and lay down some sharrows or something.

I think this van may belong to the owner of the store, as it seems to be there at various times, and 1 or 2 of the other pics show the back liftgate as being open.
The parking ticket people should know about this... good money in tickets here to help solve the city's finances, and discourage the driver from treating the bikelane as free parking.

Yeah, it's definitely the store owner.
They could make a killing enforcing parking/driving violations, and help ease up traffic congestion downtown. If they say they can't afford the staff etc., that's bollocks.... one person catching traffic and parking violations could easily be paid for with the fines they collect. And hey...if it ever becomes unprofitable, that's a sign that the enforcement is working.
Raising the fines wouldn't hurt either.

I actually spoke with a Parking Enforcement cop on Adelaide who hands out $80 tickets NON. STOP. (He says). He also says that almost every corporate offender (we were talking about the Coke deliveries) laughs, sticks it on the dash and says "the company will pay for this -- it's part of the cost of doing business and gets passed along to the customer."
This is the part where the urge to laugh or to cry is exactly the same.

New York City actually struck an agreement with companies (specifically delivery companies) that withdrew their right to contest parking fines and offered them a reduced rate based on the danger level of the offense.
I can't find the link right now, but it's on the web somewhere.

Imagine if photos on this site were treated like red light cameras or photo radar. Yes, it is sort of creepy to think of in a 'rat on your neighbours police state' sort of way but at the same time, very satisfying.
And really? There should be progressive fines that increase, not decrease, with volume.

Thanks for the post about Coke. Time to stop drinking Coke, I guess. Come to think of, why do business with anybody who blocks the bike lane?
