Oh, come on. Where do you expect him to drop off a passenger? In the middle of the street? It looks like he's just dropping someone off and then will be on his way.
Hey. Guess what? There are so many pictures on this site of cab drivers dropping off customers in the bike lane because some people enjoy making ignorant claims of "violations". The Municipal License & Standards of the City of Toronto, teach taxi drivers to pull over in the bike like to drop off or pick up passengers. I have taken the taxi driver training program taught by the city, and I'd like to educate those cyclists (I was for 7 years when living in Parkdale) that taxi drivers are encouraged to do this for the safety of their passengers and cyclists. Cyclists are just as entitled to their space on the road, but should know the law before arrogantly making claim that an entire section of the street is "off limits" to other traffic. Doesn't it make a lot of sense to pull over to the curb so that customers can make a safe exit to the sidewalk and not directly into the busy bike lane? I'm all for increasing the number of commuter bikes on the road, but don't be hypocritical. Your lane is a guide, just as a dotted line. Learn how to share the road and drive your bike defensively. There are bad drivers and bad cyclists. Wear a helmet. They look good with Ray Bans, or Oliver Peoples, or whatever else is hip in eyewear right now. Have a little empathy for a group of people who work 12 hr shifts, 7 days a week, dealing with all walks of society and the risks associated. Taxi's provide a very important service, in the economics of a growing and already congested city.

Drop off while remaining in his lane.
or at the least, pull right to the curb.
