This Beck taxi #3235 was parked in the westbound bike lane just west of Spadina on College at around ten minutes to 3pm on Monday June 23,2008. He came out of his cab and I told him that it was illegal to park there and that he was endangering my life by parking there. He refused to move and walked away telling me to f**k off.

All you had to do was to be careful and pass him when it is safe to do so. He is doing a job making a living. His dispatcher probably sent him over there and had to go inside to do a pick up.
Would you talk to anyone parked/stopped in a bike lane? Or you chose the cab driver because he is a soft target? If you do with every driver, you could get in trouble. if you only do with some and not all, you are not being fare.
You chose to be a cyclist. He chose to be a cab driver. He is out there to make a living and not to endanger your life. If your paths cross, be understandbale and move on. Talk to him will not solve a thing. Talking to the Taxi School and taxi officials may being some answer.
Same goes to the cops. Taking the picture of a cob parked in a bike designated lane will not solve a thing. Talking to the cop will not solve a thing.

I get it, you're a cab driver who thinks that anywhere you park is fine. It isn't, that's why there are rules of the road. If you don't follow them, you simply have to expect that some will object. Perhaps you need another occupation?

I am a Canada Post employee. We dont park anywhere that we have a pcik up or drop off. We just stop for a minute, clear the street letter boxes(SLBs) out of mail and move on to the next one. There many SLBs all over downtown core. What do you expect that we should do? Dont clear the mail? Go park the truck and walk all over downtown to clear your mail. All this, because you dont know how to pass a non-moving vehicle?

Park in the lane meant for cars.
Or if you don't want to deal with cyclists join us in our request to have more bike lanes and have them moved to the right hand side of parked cars.
