Are these actually official "bike lanes" or are they the compromised substandard width "edge stripes"?
There was a big controversy about this when they re-did the road a couple of years back and decided not to put in bike lanes. Doesn't look like there are any No Parking or No Stopping signs either....so I think the driver might be stopped perfectly legally.
It seems that many people have called these things "bike lanes" but technically they are not. Being sub-standard width, the City won't actually mark them as bike lanes or refer to them as such officially, or mark them on maps.

that would be one lame bike lane if that were the case.
In all honesty I am not familiar with the issue mentioned.
I hope it's an official bike lane.
