Chair-man Mills Truck Blocking Wellesley Street Westbound Bike Lane

Observed by Fonderosa on Sat, Nov 22 2008

This is no surprise. I bike down this lane right in front of my place every day and there is always a truck or car idling in the lane. Not to mention they are blowing their exhaust onto pedestrians crossing by, but this truck forces cars and bikes into oncoming traffic by stopping here. There is a side street right around the corner or a huge parking area behind these buildings where this truck could have stopped. Cars are always stopped here too, many times cab drivers, running across the street to get food at the Jamaican restaurant. So annoying!

What's even funnier, is that a cop was parked right across the street and getting into his car when I saw this.

"...a cop was parked right across the street"

So, you had the chance to ask the cop to enforce the law and instead you decided to just bitch here. Good job! I really feel for you.

If the police took the bike lane parking issue seriously, reporting violations to them would make sense. The whole purpose of this site is because the police do very little to help with this issue so the cyclists have started doing it themselves. Speaking of bitching here, every comment I see from "getagrip" is doing just that. Maybe try something positive instead of dwelling on the negative.
