Canada Post. Another major perp
St George St, Toronto, ON
Canada Post trucks are another major bike lane offender group
Canada Post truck & box
college and st. george, Toronto, ON
A postal truck, no driver around. Must have been delivering to the campus bookstore. Their truck is almost small enough to fit in the bike lane - at least drivers were happy.
Canada Post
College St and University Ave, Toronto, ON
The bike lane was mostly covered in snow.. but he would have parked there if it wasn't. Now he's just blocking the right lane of traffic.
Canada Post
St. George and Bloor, Toronto, ON
Hmmm, this plate might be wrong.
I could have gotten multiple photos of this one, but... yeah
Too Far
2275 Lake Shore Blvd W, Toronto, ON
In the background of the first picture the driveway to the parking lot for this building that this Canada Post van is parked in front of can be seen. I guess that the extra 50-75 feet that would have had to been walked was too far for this lazy excuse for a human being, it must be better to risk cyclists lives.
Bay & St. Mary, 11AM
Bay St and St. Mary St, Toronto, ON
There are two side streets and a rear shipping entrance to this set of buildings. But, hey, why not use the bike lane?
Going Postal (10AM)
Bay St and Adelaide St, Toronto, ON
Note the cyclist forced into the auto lane, and the car swerving to avoid. Thanks, Canada Post!
(Must've been mere seconds after pards' sighting!)
Postal #2
bay and temperance, Toronto, ON
Clearly Posties hate cyclists. 2 in one day on the same street.
3rd Strike
college and palmerston, Toronto, ON
This is the 3rd time in a week that I've caught this bozo in exactly the same spot. Chimpanzees learn faster than that.
Same place, same time
college and palmerston, Toronto, ON
2nd violation in a week for this idiot.
I had a long conversation with him but his attitude was, "What can I do?". I replied that he could have used the parking space that was available about 10m in front of him. He scoffed, like legal parking was such an inconvenience.
Going Postal
Grace, Toronto, ON
Next time I'll get the plate since it's outrageous for a public employee to do this. The white-line to the left of the parked cars denotes the left-boundary of the bike lane. Notice how there is a huge space in the foreground for the driver to park in. If there had been nowhere for the driver to park on the entire block it might be acceptable since mail is a public service and not a private company, but there were plenty of spots. I drove delivery for a year with an Econoline without side or back windows. I could have parked in the foreground space easily.
A day in the College St bike lane...
College St and Spadina, Toronto, ON
I thought I would start this series of photos with a positive note. This is the first time in 2 years of riding that I have ever seen someone get a ticket for parking in the bike lane, and I had my camera with me! Yeehaw. Could changes be afoot?
Regarding the next 60 posts...
I was surprised to find that Toronto only recently celebrated its 100 posting on mybikelane.com, considering how many cars and delivery vans I swerve around daily on my way to U of T campus.
I decided that today, between errands, I would ride up and down the College bike lane (between Manning and Bay) until 5pm. The following 60 posts were all taken today (May 15) during approximately 5 hours of riding between 10 and 5 o’clock. I only snapped the shutter if I, or any other cyclist, had to ride around them since this meant the driver clearly was not concerned for the safety and rights of cyclists.
A couple of observations:
- There were MANY pictures that were too blurry to post and MANY vehicles that I didn’t get to in time to snap the shot. 60 postings does not represent nearly the number of violations I saw today.
- On multiple occasions I saw delivery trucks finish one delivery and then just drive down the bike lane 50m or so, park, and make another delivery. They probably do this up the whole street.
I challenge someone else to get more posts in one day... it shouldn't be too hard to beat! It'd be interesting to profile another bike lane though.
Safe riding!
Damned if you're eastbound, Damned if you're westbound
Cosburn and Pape, Toronto, ON
As I was taking the photo of the Canada Post van westbound, this contractor parked directly opposite in the eastbound lane.
Canada Post around 1:30 pm

In front of the MARS center, near College & University
Canada Post

North side of College street, just west of University Ave.
